The yo-yo weather in Penang swung between hot and humid and rain, but the Chinese New Year celebrations lifted us!
The streets were lined with the usual 'hawkers' selling their incredible noodles and soups, but also with Chinese lamps. We stayed at the Old Penang Guesthouse and met up with Joahan and Caroline. We saw the incredible fireworks for New Year, visited the museum, had afternoon tea at the amazing Eastern & Oriental Hotel and caught the revamped funicular railway to the top of Penang Hill, albeit through cloud! Mum loved the afternoon tea best I reckon!
