Its a shame the video didn't work out but apparently it would have taken about a week to upload it so I won't be bothering with videos anymore - far to stressful!! We left Loas both glad we went but definately got ripped off. there are 300,000 kiip to 100 baht and it took a bit off working out to go from one currency to another. It didn't help that the Laos people didn't want their own currency! as its vitually worthless but everytime we paid in Bahts they gave us so much change in kiips and we were both getting assie about it. Its strange really because when we talk about getting ripped off we are actually talking about 50 or 60p but we have become so tight its untrue!! Its more to do with the fact we keep thinking 100baht is about 13 pounds but its only 1.30 anyway we felt good coming back to Bangkok. By this time we had been on two sleeping trains and 14 hours on a river boat so were very tired. We had the day ahead of us before we got on the sleeper train to go down south. Denise had had enough travelling and just wanted to look at the shops while I was quite happy to go sightseeing. Both met nice people while we were doing our thing and when we met up we both had lots to talk about. That was when Denise confessed to doing some shopping!! She bought a fabulous bag which she just had to have and some other things that various people would just love so they just had to be bought!! Forever practical I mentioned about carrying it all but her plan is to post some stuff from Australia so it won't be so bad. She is so funny and I had no idea she loved shopping so much but she didn't mention being tired after her expedition - in fact she was so up it was untrue. I was telling her about my guides english being really bad but he was insisting I took loads of photos not understanding what I was taking photos of. It was when he was getting very excited about kinsows, kinsows I had to tell him I really didn't understand. He got quite worked up and just kept on - kinsows, kinsows,kinsows until the penny dropped. Oh said I , Kings house(palace) yee yee he said very pleased I understood - me too! Any way good day for both knowing that after the next sleeping train we would be staying in the same place for 8 days and both needing it. This travelling is great its surprising how many people you get involved with but we have both decided we have done our bit now and need a holiday!
