Traveled yesterday from Grand Junction, Colorado to the mile high city of Denver. Upon arrival, we checked into the Hilton Garden Inn. For dinner, we met with Rita's nephew, Jon, and his 3 children: Justin, age 15, and twins Aiden and Jonah, age 12. We had a delightful time at the Hacienda Colorado, a popular Mexican restaurant.
Today, we managed to just be tourists. Started at the state capitol building, then Brown Palace Hotel, then The Union station . Finally, I badgered Rita into taking a tour of Coors Field, a fairly nice ball park, but not actually as nice as Petco.
At dinner time, we took a look at the Red Rock park, then moved on the the town of Morrison where we had a terrific reunion with Lois and d*** Friedland, whom we had not seen in at least 45 or 50 years. Lois was an old high school friend of mine back in Detroit. Sharing our respective life stories after all this time over dinner was a great pleasure. Tomorrow, we move on to Nebraska.
