This is definately the last update. We touched down at Heathrow at 1.30pm today (Friday 31st) and arrived back in Birmingham (in heavy rain!) at 5.30pm. It appears that nothing has changed! Thank you all for listening, thank you for your much appreciated messages, we will update San Francisco photos tomorrow and look forward to seeing …
Welcome to our travels, our trials and our tribulations!
The day has nearly arrived! Tomorrow we have a lift to Digbeth Coach Station and then set off for the Thistle Hotel at Heathrow Airport, finally leaving the country on Monday morning. The postcard dated 9th February has our full itinery on it so you can see where we hope to go and what we hope to do.

What a brilliant end to an epic adventure! It all sounds completely amazing, can't wait to hear the stories and see the photo's. Will need at least a week!!!!
Little Cerys has just gone to bed and seems in much better spirits these last few days. She's just sung herself to sleep, which is a million times better than listening to wails! She woke us at 4 am this morning singing in bed and wouldn't go back to sleep till 7. As it was Marks birthday we decided to have present opening session and birthday cake in bed for our 4 am party!!! She's so immensley cute when she does it that we can't help but smile, even if it is the crack of dawn! As a result though I am totally knackered today and have had to have several shots of caffeine in order to function. She's just learning to roll so I need eyes in the back of my head. I can't leave her on her changing mat anymore. I think you will be totally amazed at how much she's changed. I'm just so chuffed that she is back on form for now as we can actually go out and not worry that all hell might let loose!
Looking forward to catching up on Sat.....enjoy the last few hours in San Francisco!!!
Loads love

By now you should be making your way up to Cairns if not already there. Hope you enjoyed the Whitsundays and snorkalling out on that Barrier reef, its awesome isn't it?
All is good here, apart from it looks like Cerys is teething!!! Just when she was starting to be more settled! She's real cranky with bright red cheeks and trying to chew on everything. Poor little mite!
We spent last night in the van as a trial run before we go on holiday. We only went to Woolacombe so that we could make a run for it if it got too tough but it was fine apart from the lack of sleep due to having about an inch of bed as Cerys took up most of the van!!! She was comfy though. It was lovely been back in freedom travel mode and me and Mark sat outside the van watching the sun set and had a few glasses of wine to celebrate me quitting breast feeding finally after 14 painful wks! Next week were going to head further afield and brave two nights!
Carry on enjoying your time in Oz and when you get back from your travels for this year you can enjoy many a weekend in Devon which can't be bad either!
Lots love

Your blogs from Australia have made me chuckle - good reading. En suite camping sounds just the thing - we will have to make do with a piddle bucket and dodgy shower blocks!
Im off today as Jessica is not well poor thing. Everyone else fine though. Emilys prom went well and she looked lovley and muggins here went to pick her up from her after prom party at 3.30am!! At least she wasnt drunk or maybe shes good at acting sober!. I've just booked Hoar Cross Hall for Em's 16th. Just me and her-thought she might like it. She gets back from doing silver DOE on her birthday so thought a bit of pampering would be needed.
Take care, look forward to seeing you soon love Deb and Co XXX

Blimey, all sounds terrible, bet you wish you were back here, in drizzley England... Atherton clan all OK. Got Mum a new laptop and broadband, should be heading up to her's in a week or so to set up the connection for her - at the moment she has nothing, so hope this site will all be here for a while longer yet so she can get a chance to see all your blogs and pics. Where did you get the piccie of the Koala if you haven't seen one yet, or is that the old "take a photo of a postcard" trick? Anyway, most jealous, can't wait to hear all about it first hand, have to sort something out with Mum when you're back. Dave's gone part-time as of 1st May, working 3 days a week till 1st Aug, then 2 days a week till 1st Nov, then nothing! We've just set up a new company, "Cerato Consultancy" which Dave can start to get into shape while I carry on earning a regular wage - all very exciting, got to sort out our company logo next! Anyway, enjoy the rest of your wonderful trip, see you back in suny blighty. xxx

Gday folks!
How are things in sunny old Queensland then? It all sounds so amazing and is a walk down memory lane for me, although disappointed you never got to Nimbin for the space cookies! Then again, I'm amazed I ever got to sydney after my experience!!!
Glad you got to Australia zoo and paid homage to Steve Irwin, its definitely the best zoo I've ever been to and the crocodile display is just plain frightening! You could hear the fear on the voice of the person who did it the day I was there! Noosa is a lovely area, I seem to remember seeing a koala in the wild there! I'm sure you will have great fun on Fraser island, just don't land yourself with a fine for leaving food out for the dingo's like I did and don't swim in the sea, too many sharks! the fresh water lakes are just beautiful though!
Well things are a bit hard here right now as me and Cerys both have a nasty cold! I don't know whats worse....trying to look after Cerys when feeling lousy or listening to her all conjested and upset because the poor little thing doesn't know whats going on! Last night I slept sat up with Cerys on my chest so that we could both get some sleep. She's dripping snot out of her nose and has a sad little whimper which pulls on your heart strings! She still manages the odd smile though, so still my lovely little girl! I'm sure it'll all be better soon but right now not much fun!!!
You carry on having fun in the sun and enjoy the rest of the beauty that Queensland has to offer!
Lots love

why hello there! i hope your having a brill time down under...i wish i was there at this moment in time because to be perfectly honest i aint coping well with the stress of exams....i sort of dropped myself in the uno where, on Wednesday 09/05/07 i sort of saved my Dida work in the wrong folder and it got deleted, and i sort of nearly killed myself because of my own stupidity, but luckily i worked like a little trooper and got all the work back in time for tomorrows lesson lol...i thought i was gonna die when it happened. lol i am such a mad head. and i have also had another up and down thing, thank god for the quiet teachers...Mr Colwil let me sit in his room and be quiet and sort of hide if ya get me, i no this is stupid but i am really greatful for it, it really calmed me down and made me feel better, he is a really cool teacher, i wish he was teaching me chemistry again lol i am terrified that the exams coming. i have sort of gone back to my evil, snappy mood swings again because of being under the little stresses, kinda bad on my friends but thank god they aint deserted me yet lolanyway i'll leave ya alone now, i think it'll be best because i am really starting to envy you, because of you being in the sun and having a brill time in kiwi-ago-go-land, love and best wishes Lozzy Llama
