Ah the joy of wearing clean clothes. The apartment here in St Kilda has a washing machine. We did a load as soon as we got here and have the delight of a choice of clothes rather than the least stained or smelly.
We were asked by friends how you pack for 2 months, easy you pack 4 tee shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 shirts, a couple of trousers and 7 pairs of underwear all washed on rotation.
This did not happen. What happens is you wear the cloths until they smell then store them in the washing pile, usually after 3 days, clothes that were washing had the sniff test and if passable (and they always were due to lack of choice) were recycled. At the end of of Vietnam some of the clothes could stand up unaided (David's )
Back to today; walked into Melbourne in fresh and stain free clothes. It was about 10km then we did a walking tour of the city so all in 17km and Yvonne moaned all the way. The walking tour was the back alleys of the city. You've never seen so many coffee shops. It's a wonder anyone here ever sleeps.
Then rode a historic tram around the centre for an hour interspersed with liquid refreshments for David. One refreshment stop was accompanied by a life size portrait of a naked pre-pubescent girl (Chloe) unusual place Melbourne.
Ended up back in the first bar we visited on St Kilda, La Roche, tonight's special was a parmo; bigger than the plate it came on we are defo going there again for dinner.
Just realised we used "defo" Australians love to shorten words, see today's photo for an example.
