Picked up the motor today managed to get 2.5 volkswagon jetta nice. It was that or a chrysler cruiser a right munter of a vehicle so rather than look like noddy and big ears out cruising we gratfully accepted the jetta. After driving 300 miles in it today we made the right decision.Gordon was very good and surprisingly so was Sue.The scenery was non existent just miles and miles of very flat fields,but we knew this.then eventually we left the state of Illinois...

We went into downtown Chicago today where we met a local volunteer who took us on a walking tour of the points of interest. it lasted about an hour and started at the Cultural centre.Which is a beautiful building which has two domed ceilings one of which was made by Tiffany & co.We then went to see the point where Route 66 begins and as you can see we had to take a photo.Fingers crossed we will have one showing the end.A lady on the tour told us to take a wat...

Trip to heathrow went well no problems. Sue says terminal 5 is very expensive and did'nt buy anything. Good flight but immigration in Chicago took time queued for 50 mins to clear but they let us in. They have also got our mug shots and finger prints now. Weather very changeable 80 degrees yesterday 50 today. Hotel is fine but we are very tired. Off to check out Chicago tomorrow.
