Since arriving in Finland, there had been a lot of indulgence, eating and drinking, but very little exercise so time to make amends. Having a dog, Nena, to walk made it easier to leave the house, especially when the weather was not so great. In the summer we would have been walking up the side of the river but this was winter and you get to walk 'on' the river. It's not just walkers on the river, it turns in to a bit of a highway...well, actually, it really does become a highway because a 'road' is marked out for the cars to drive on. Snow mobiles and cross country skiers add to the traffic but there was still enough room for Nena to get off the lead and chase a few snowballs.
