HI all.

We are currently in Freemantle which is approx 30 mins south of Perth. We went to Perth zoo last Wednesday which was amazing. A kangaroo came up to me, sniffed me and then put his paws on me. It was a really cool experience but also a little scary at the same time! We saw an elephant swimming in the water (there is a video of it on here) playing with her new rubber ring. That was so cool to watch because we have never seen an elephant swimming in the water before. As you can see from the photo, this is how close we got to the lions. Some parts of the zoo were open for the kangaroos, wallabees and other non dangerous animals to come up to you. The koalas were so cute but were sparked out in the trees because it was so hot. The monkeys were very funny and the orangatans were huge!! We also saw some weird looking creatures that we had never seen before also. I have uploaded all the photos under the Perth photo album.

Freemantle is a nice fishing harbour but is a little too quiet for us and also very expensive. We spent the day at the beach on Monday but both of us got quite badly burnt even though we were wearing factor 30 sun lotion!! We have also been to the shipwreck museum which was very interesting to walk around and see what had been washed up on the beach and also pulled up from the sea bed. We are going to a chocolate factory tomorrow which I think is a little like Cadbury's world back home and also to Freemantle prison. It was the last place people were hung in Australia years ago. The prison is empty now but there are regular tours during the day.

We have booked our flight to Melbourne and leave early Sunday morning. We have managed to book into a really cool hostel in the heart of Melbourne for a really cheap price. We have booked a week but are going to try and find an apartment to rent for a month so that we can have our privacy back as we have been staying in 4 bed and 8 bed dorms and will be staying in a 10 bed dorm in Melbourne. After Melbourne, we are looking to hire a car or campervan to travel up the east coast. Anyway, as you know, we will keep you poasted. Love and miss you all lots xxxx
