Up early again thanks to the farmyard animals, we pack, breakfast and thank our hosts and wave goodbye as we head off for the long journey back to Mae Hong Son. Pordee has warned us that this is the longest and hardest part of the three day trek. Awoken by cock-a-doodle-dooing at 4 am we try and get some more z's - no luck as the cockerels crow every 10 seconds for the next 2 hours!!!!! We reach the Sunflower Cafe the starting point for our trek at 8.30 am a bit flustered as we woke up rather late; jet lag who needs it! The cafe is a hive of activity with small pick-up trucks being loaded with food, water and all other essentials for the trek. Smooth as Silk as they say, Park Street to Bangkok in 18 hrs; not bad and that's with an hour's delay.
