Spent the last couple of days in Munich. We were reluctant to include Munich on our list of places to visit, but we're glad we did. It has a nice feel to it. Some good restaurants and beer halls. Plenty of sights to see. The metro is easy to use, which makes it convenient to get around the city. Weather is still holding up - still really cold, but no rain or snow. Hopefully it'll hold out a bit longer while we make our way across to Paris where we are spending Xm...

Left Budapest today to head for Munich. Stopped at a little place called Ansfelden, just outside Linz in upper Austria. We stopped here for no reason other than it was a halfway point to Munich, although doing a bit of research indicates Linz may have been worthy of a couple of days. Last day in Budapest before we head off over to Austria. Day is freezing cold, must be below zero. Although there is no wind or rain so it's not too bad. We opted for a final stroll around the city, do a bit of window shopping at some of the high end stores (Gucci, Armani, D & G, etc). Left Zagreb yesterday to head up to Budapest. About a 4 hour drive. Not a very good day for driving, a real pea soup fog has settled in, with temp down to -1C. Only a one day stop in Zagreb before we push on to Budapest. Sightseeing was limited to the central city area. Which was OK because that in itself is a sight to see. The most prominent feature here is the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or the Zagreb Cathedral.
