We stayed on Clarke's Quay on our last visit in 2003. Since then, this area alongside the Changi River has been on the receiving end of massive redevelopment, with several enormous new hotels. The old street market has been completely redeveloped. Yet it still retains the essential atmosphere of the old port that served the British colony up to 1965.
