I have been extremely excited about arriving in Florence. Not because of the amazing city but we finally splashed out a little and rented some decent accommodation! Our room is massive and the bed is even bigger! Not to mention the plasma on the wall. I never want to leave this room! Makes a huge difference sleeping in a proper bed for a change. Now, enough about the room! Maybe one more thing about the room, it's located right outside the front of the Duomo (http://delicious.com/stacks/view/FfPUfT). I'll also post a photo on twitter so you can see how close we really are! Today, after lining up for an hour we got to see Michelangelo's David (http://delicious.com/stacks/view/FfPUfT). He is massive! A lot bigger than I thought he would be. Had to drag Alice away from him!

Tomorrow we will be leaving Florence and making our way down to Rome. Apparently there is a heat wave affecting the city with temperature's currently around 38 degrees. Going to be hot! Alice has planned our trip perfectly and we will be stopping in Piza for a couple of hours to see the leaning tower and then off again to Rome. Not sure where I would be without her!
