Hello from Ko Phi Phi! Five days ago, we arrived by ferry on perhaps the most beautiful island on the earth. Ko Phi Phi is amazing. The last couple days have been great! Yesterday was spent at Karon Beach. So beautiful! We managed to avoid the looming clouds on the northern end of the beach and walk a few kms to the south side. Welcome to our first Thailand blog! We arrived in Phuket after 17 hours of flying and a long 13 hour layover in Hong Kong. We met up with my family in Potsdam, Germany, and travelled with them to my Opa,s hometown(s) close to Magdeburg. We both learned a tonne about my family,s history, and about German culture. So, yesterday we went to Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz 2 (Birkenau). We have both agreed that, if it weren`t for the survivors collective agreement to keep the place open, we would have no problem seeing it burned to the ground. What a terrible, terrible place.
