Darragh's Travels
I'm feeling a bit lazy and time is against me so I borrowed the following from Roy's blog (I got his permission!).
Well, we got it, the permits and the train tickets and are on our way to the Holy City of Lhasa. The train journey was about 36hours, very posh, tv for every bed, oxygen also for all, yeh. Very sophisticated system with numerous tunnels through the mountains, elaborate heating system for part of the tracks at high altitude to stop them from buckelling from the cold, pressurised train carriages.
We went for a drink in the dinning carriage and were promptly asked by the waitress, in broken english, 'Whats wrong with you, go home'. So we eventually got a beer and again were asked 'Whats wrong with you, go home'! I was getting a bit of a complex so we headed back to the cabin.
Thats the bones of the train trip, nice chilled out trip (bar the heated arguments and exchange of thumps and punches).
