From Montinita we travelled a 8 hours or so inland to a small town called Banos, which is Spanish for baths, famed for its hot springs and a volcano that has only just been declared dormant again (apparently, just three months ago you could see the crater glowing at night and smoke pouring out) We stayed here for Christmas, meeting up with two friends of mine, Drew & Jill who are also travelling around South America. We've both been really bad at writing on this blog, so it's now my turn to write a little something something. As our time in Costa Rica was coming to an end we decided to head back to San Jose and find a nice hostel with a pool so we could just relax in the sun. The reality, however was...
