Greetings!!!!
So here goes...our first blog of the trip! We are currently in Phuket Province, Thailand near a little beach called Nai Yang. We are in quite possibly the plushest hostel of all time, in our own air conditioned (very important) bungalow about 5 min Tuk-tuk ride to the beach. We only got to Phuket today after our first two days in Kuala Lumpur which was fun. We stayed near to Times Square which was pretty central to all the sights including Starbucks and Papa John's Pizza!! Ha ha! We were also, perhaps more culturally important, in walking distance of China Town, the KL tower and of course the Patronas Towers, which were particularly spectacular, especially at night. Kuala Lumpur has areas where money is in abundance and designer shops are everywhere. Unfortunately me and Dan felt slightly underdressed to join the queue to enter the Louis Vuitton shop so we set on raiding Marks and Spencer for Percy Pigs instead!(sadly none available). The city was good to explore, with plenty of parkland, but it has been nice today to spend time on a beach and away from too many westernised things (I say this as Dan is currently watching random Thai TV on the flat screen, while we have the air con on full and eat Oreos....oops!!)
Anyway flying into Phuket today was awsome and the view out of the plane was breath taking. Our first venture into the Adaman Sea today was amazing-clear turquoise waters and as warm as bath water. We are both looking forward to spending more time on these gorgeous beaches and get some scuba diving done. From the plane it was clear to see loads of coral reefs just off the coast so can not wait to explore them further.
I think that will do us for now as there is little else to say. We are planning to go further down the Phuket province tomorrow to Kata beach and stay there perhaps for a few days. Dan has promised to write the next blog (so goodness knows when that will be!)
