Blog day 75 Wed 20th July 2011
So this bus ride was a little bit better than the last one. However we were the last people to be picked up so we didn't get a choice of bed. Trish ended up on the top bunk sandwiched between a hyperactive 9 year and a lovey dovey German couple. Dan on the other hand was bunking down next to a 100 year old Vietnamese woman that looked like she needed a good iron!
We arrive in Nha Trang about 7 in the morning, jump into a taxi to our hotel, only to find out that we can't check in until around 10ish. We are allowed to lock our bags in a storage room, and decide to go check out the booking office that our forwarding bus to Saigon is leaving from. We are only spending one night in Nha Trang. The office turns out to be about a half hour walk away if not more when we figure we've walked past it. Once this is sorted we find a nice little restaurant for breakfast before heading to walk along the beach which is amazing. Probably the best beachfront we have seen so far and the surrounding area is much more civilized to what we've been used to (there are actually pavements to walk on). A few hours later once we can check in we catch some proper sleep for a few hours, about 5 to be exact, sleeping on a jolty, smelly bus is nion impossible. We watch some rubbish TV & then get showered & then head out to find somewhere for dinner. After a walk around the bustling streets full of hawkers selling stuff & trying to get us into their shops we stumble across a curry house. The food smells amazing & after coming from a place where curry is a weekly dish we are desperately craving it. After much deliberation we decide on the really exotic Poppadum's, Tikka Masala, Onion Bajhis, Pilau rice and of course bottle of beer, I can tell you it did not disappoint.
