This morning was a bit of a blur...we woke up really early to catch our train...which we made...then fell asleep until we reached Paris. Once we got to the station we reserved tickets for our chunnel ride to London on Friday. (Unfortunately or fortunately, however you want to look at it, we got seats on the last train Friday evening). After waiting in line at the train station for an hour we had to find our way to the hotel, which is outside the main tourist area a little ways. 2 trains later and a mile hike up hill we finally found it. (The directions did not tell us to jump on one more train that would drop us off on top of the hill right next to our hotel). By this time we were exhausted...so we decided it would be a good idea to take a quick power nap.
Following our nap, we set out to buy our tickets for the Louvre tomorrow (so we don't have to wait in the long lines for tickets) and to find the Eiffel Tower. We found it, the lines to go up it were incredible so we thought it would be a better idea to just go up it tomorrow after we visit the Louvre. We walked a few steets over and found a little restaurant to eat at (since we hadn't eaten all day-the food wasn't very good, but we were so hungry it was suitable). After breakfast/lunch/dinner we decided to catch a river boat cruise down towards Notre Dame. It was a nice boat ride followed by a big disappointment with the Cathedral. It was very dark, there was a projector screen in the middle giving some kind of history, we couldn't take any pictures inside (we couldn't see anything anyways to take a picture) and we didn't see a darn Hunched-Back (well actually there was a really old man outside the Cathedral so maybe that was Kwazi-Modo?)
By this time it was 9 o'clock, and we needed to get back to the hotel and hopefully do some laundry. It took us forever to find a metro stop...they are not labeled very well...but eventually we found one and arrived back at our hotel an hour or so later (we walked around looking for a stop for probably 30 minutes or so). Tomorrow we plan to do as much as we can...we'll get a good night sleep tonight so we can be at the Louvre when it opens tomorrow morning. Unfortunately we won't be able to do laundry until tomorrow night...
The pictures from Brussels and Amsterdam are going to be in the same album, we'll try to label them so you can see where one city ends and the other picks up! (we just didn't take that many pictures in these cities). We are exhausted! So GOOD NIGHT!!!
