Hello, look how good im being with my blogs!
Ok, so we have had a couple of busy days (kinda). On friday we went to 'The Last Laugh' at the Melbourne Comedy club, which is on Collins Street in the city. We managed to get the tickets from the st kilda day festival for a bargin $8 each, instead of $28. So we got dressed up in our finest clothes from the depths of our backpacks, and went up at around 8pm. We got to see 3 comics, The first, who i think was Mark McConville, was really funny, but was pretty much just the MC for the night, so only did a few bits. Our favorite act of the night was the support comic, called Tom Little, who was helarious, and then finally the main act was tom Seigert (i think) who was a very australian man, very much a red neck, and was probably the least funny, but still good. But we had a great night and still managed to catch the last tram home.
Then yesterday (valentines day), after making a lunch of strawberry, grape, marshmellow and chocolate kebabs, we went out for a meal at a place down Fitzroy Street, called Leo's Spagetti bar. Which was really really good, and stuffed our faces and had a few beers in our hostel and down in the main St Kilda road. We walked down to the pier at sun set, where its quite common to see penguins come in for the night and look after the nests. So armed with the camara (no flash) we waited for about 20minutes to see if we would be lucky enough to catch one. After about 10minutes, a black shaddow appeared in the water just in front of us, and a little penguin (about 30cm high) jumped out the water and shook itself off before running for its life into the rocks below the stage that we were standing on. As i said, no flash on the camara, so its a very poor photo, but the only light was the red flash light that the lady who patrols the area has.
Today we are going to head up to the arts and craft market near the city, and maybe try and catch some more sights of the penguins.
Anyways, sorry its not riviting stuff, but at least its up to date. Hope all is well at home.
