Friday 14th Jan was a pretty eventful day! From Taupo, we headed out to the West of the North Island to Waitomo Caves, apparently world famous for their glow worms. There, I went Black Water Rafting, which is actually not really rafting but more like sitting in a rubber ring and 'floating' along an undergrouind river in a bunch of caves. On the way out of Rotorua, we stopped at Wai-O-tapu thermal park. It contains lots of carters made by thermal activity, and thermal pools. Many of the pools are all different colours from orange and yellow to blue and green because of the thermal activity. So some partsof the park were beautiful. Rotorua stinks! And that's not me being mean about it, it really does. Everyone warned me, so it didn't bother me too much, but because of the geothermal activity in the area, there is a lot of sulphur being released into the air so it smells like rotten eggs.
