After leaving Yokohama we headed to Kawaguchi-ko to see Mt Fuji. It was a bit of a mission, we had to get 3 trains but we got there in the end. When we got there it seemed a bit drizzly but we thought it would be ok. We started walking to Fuji and it started pouring down with rain we got soaked but had come this far so we were not turning back. We decided to stick to our plan and get the cable car up to the viewing platform, funnily enough there were no queues!! Our view of Fuji was pretty non existant no matter how much we willed it to reveal itself. Next stop was Kyoto for 5 days. Had a really nice time in Kyoto, spent first few days looking at temples, went to arashiyama to a monkey forest but there were no monkeys!!! Saw some great temples and zen gardens though. We were all templed out so made our way for Shirahama beach, it was lovely, white sand, apparantly imported from Oz. We went to Hiroshima which we found peaceful + moving. Overall we really enjoyed Japan, it's a great country with loads of amazing sights and very friendly people.
