Hello,
So, we are nearing the end of our Australian adventure. We've been in Cains now for 3 weeks, we were not planning on being here this long but due to the complications to register the car that is how it's worked out. We're selling now so hopefully will not be here for much longer. Cains is cool, it's just unbelievably hot + humid and although we shouldn't be complaining it's pretty hardgoing.
It rained loads for the first week so we didn't do much but has since dried out. We did a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef and did 2 dives. They were wicked, we saw 2 Sharks, they were Reef Sharks so they weren't huge or dangerous - thankfully. The coral was beautiful, loads of different types and we held sea cucumbers which are very strange indeed. We drove to Cape Tribulation which was nice but it was pouring with rain so we couldn't see as much. We went to Atherton Tablelands which was beautiful, we did a falls + lakes circuit which was lovely and we had a lovely sunny day so enjoyed cooling off in the lakes and falls.
Apart from that we've been spending quite a bit of time at the hostel. We are part of the funiture now!! The staff here are great and we've made lots of friends while we've been staying here.
We are now just waiting to sell the car then we can start our New Zealand adventure.
Will write again soon - hopefully from New Zealand!!
Loads of Love
