Day 89- Sun 6th

We got the Greyhound at 9am and it took 4 hours to get to Townsville. We rang our friend Agnelle (from our Contiki tour) who we were staying with and she came to pick us up. The weather was really nice so she took us along The Strand which was like an esplanade. She took us to her favourite fish and chip shop for some lunch and then we went for a walk along The Strand. Their beach is really nice and clean, it has a netted off area so that you can swim in the sea without getting stung by jelly fish. You can see Magnetic Island from the beach as its only 15 minutes away on the ferry. We drove to her house which is really nice; she shares the downstairs apartment with her brother whilst her mum and dad live upstairs. Her Nan even has her own little granny flat. She's got two gorgeous dogs called Fidget and Winston. We chilled out for a few hours before Tenielle (another girl we had met on the Contiki tour) and Angie came over. We went for dinner at Cactus Jacks which was a nice Mexican place. After dinner we drove up Castle Hill where there was a really nice look out point over the city. I didn't realise how big Townsville actually was until we came up here. We went back to Agnelle's, Vicky and I are sharing a mattress on the floor and Lisa shared with Agnelle in her bed. It was actually really comfy!
