Day 31- Fri 8th Had a nice cooked breakfast this morning and not a very early start which was much appreciated. It was a long day travelling to Franz Josef. Along the way we made stops, once at a Jade factory which is quite commonly found in that area. Got to our hotel the Rainforest Retreat late afternoon so had a walk around the local area, it was pretty small and only a few shops. Day 30- Thur 7th It was a very early start today, had to be on the coach by 7am! We are leaving the North Island and going to the South via ferry. It was an ok journey, we slept most of the way. Got to the port of Picton and then it was back on the coach for a ride to Christchurch. Along the way we stopped at the Oturo Lookout and saw loads of seals and there were baby ones too!!! Day 28- Tues 5th Today we were very hungover and had to rush our breakfast and just about made it onto the coach. We had to travel for 7 hours today, I'm sick of the coach already! Nathan kept talking about all the sights along the way but there wasn't anything great. We finally got to Wellington, the capital city, and drove to the top of Mount Victoria. Day 27- Mon 4th Today we headed for Taupo and the huge lake. Filled ourselves up on porridge and fruit and took the coach for our journey to our day's activities. The others did the rock n ropes but I decided to do the Huka Jet as I'm scared of heights even in New Zealand! The huka jet was like a hovering speed boat that took us down the river and to the Huka Falls which was an amazing waterfall. Along the way the driver did a few twists and turns and some 360' ...

Day 24- Fri 1st Feb We woke up late today, think we all needed a good sleep. We are sharing a four bed dorm but the other girl left quite early in the morning so we had the room to ourselves. It's pretty basic, no windows and the toilets/showers are down the hall.
