After an 11 hour flight, (through which I slept through 10 hours and Craig slept 2) a train and tube journey, we arrived at our hostel in Hua Lamhong in Bangkok.
After a relatively comfortable nights stay, we decided to go to Ko Ratanakosin, the large Buddhist area which is home to Wat Pho, the Grand Palace and Wat Arun. It took a while to actually get there due to an arguement with a tuk tuk driver and a missed bus (we didnt realise you actually had to jump on it while it was moving!) we shared a taxi there with an Italian couple who were clearly just as frustrated. Due to neither of us having camera leads we cant upload our photos just yet, but the temple was beautiful. Lots of gold and lots of Buddahs- you will see when we can find a memory card reader!
Overall we didnt like Bangkok much, very busy and lots of people following you and hassling you, so we skipped our planned next nights stay and got a sleeper train to Chiag Mai. We stayed in bunks which werent too bad but neither of us had got used to Thai time yet so we were both awake for most of it. After 14 and a half hours, we arrived in Chiang Mai.
