This week we have been to see Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. We stayed in a picturesque campsite in a rainforest and it did pour down with rain the whole time. Luckily there was a good pub with a real log fire. Sadly our helihike was cancelled twice due to bad weather but what we saw of the glaciers was amazing!

We then got to Queenstown where the weather was hot and sunny, the town is beautiful and is surrounded by a lake and mountains. We went up the gondola right to the top of the mountain. The next day we went to a deer park where they filmed scenes from Lord of the Rings suddenly it started snowing really hard and as we were the only ones stupid enough to be feeding deers and sheep up a mountain in a blizzard we had to abandon the trip. Dan made friends with a deer and was sad to leave him! Dan was also disappointed to find out that he is too tall to do a skydive!! I said i wouldn't bother as it wouldn't be fair to leave him watching from down below as I have all the fun. I think he is secretly relieved though. We are now staying in a small town called Akaroa. We have a fantastic spot on top of a hill over looking the harbour. Today we have been swimming with dolphins which was brill we also saw a penguin swimming about. Dan was also sick on the way back due to swallowing too much salty water!!
