By this time next week we will have arrived in Amman, capital of Jordan.
I recently bought a pair of Timberland Earthkeepers Anti Fatigue Shoes for trekking on tour. The advertising was alluring. Strong, environmentally friendly and with the promise of endless walking without weariness. Sold! This week I have been wearing the shoes 'in', only to have my heels rubbed red raw. Was this false advertising or was it my failure to prepare properly? Why didn't I buy the shoes earlier and wear them in for longer? I'm hopeful that with another week the shoes will fit and I'll be fit. It's so important to be able to walk well in God's world. To walk well we need to fit in with the way God has made His world and prepare properly for the journey called 'life'. But how? 'The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.' (Habakkuk 3:19) God's power enables us to walk right in a world gone wrong, with the light footed, sure steps of faith. We're designed to walk well and climb high, overcoming when life rubs us raw knowing that the view at the end of the journey will be beyond compare. 'Dear children, now we are children of God, and what will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.' (1 John 3:2)
