So we kinda went exploring today, sort of! We managed to be up and get out for 11am, which is kind of a record for us. Our days travelling seem to roll into one as we have the luxury of not needing to clock watch, time just ticks away without much importance, apart from when we are due to catch a bus, train, ferry etc.
So we ate breakfast around 11am and although I had awoken at 7am to a heavy down pour of rain, it seemed to be quite a clear day, seemed being the apt word here! We ate breakfast and went for a short stroll around the area near our resort. Looking in a few local shops/stalls.
The clear skies and sunshine was soon to end! As I sit here writing this under the shelter of the thatched roof of the beach restaurant. The rain continues to pour down upon the ocean, turning it a murky green as the sand begins to turn from powdery white to a dark greyish brown. We had managed to have a couple of hours in the sunshine and our idea of sunbathing was soon shattered shortly after arriving back at the restaurant.
At first I was secretly annoyed. My first thought was 'I am missing home and family and would love to be back there for Christmas, the only thing making it better was the fact that we were going to be lazying around in the sunshine!' Instead we are sat around a bar exploiting the free wifi and reading our kindles! However I have now sat here for three hours with Ben and come to my senses. What's a bit of rain when your with your favourite person, seeing new places and not having to work a 9-5 job every day! This is the longest holiday I have ever had and will more than likely be the longest I will be able to ever experience. Get a grip girl!
It's actually been a really relaxed, cozy day filled with people watching, (mainly couples from all over the world and a few groups of female friends travelling together) reading, blogging and contemplating life.
It's strange how your mind wanders when you have so much time on your hands, what will the future hold? How is everyone doing back home? Who I miss and how I will make more time for the ones I love when I'm back.
Anyway enough of the soppy cliched rubbish. Hopefully reports of sunshine and sunbathing will be on the cards for my Christmas Eve and Day blog...( I know you all wait with baited breath).
