We took the long way to Mullewa via Woolen Station in the hope of seeing some spectacular wild flowers. We saw no better than we had been seeing driving from Mt Augustus to Murchison. We packed up at Mt Augustus and drove about 5 and a half hours to the Murchison Roadhouse. We are stopping here purely because neither of us could be bothered driving any further. Mt Augustus is the biggest rock in Australia. Bigger than Ayers Rock/Uluru. I think the main difference in the notoriety between the two is that Mt Augustus has more vegetation on it and Uluru is just rock (can't speak from experience as we haven't been to Uluru). From Carnarvon we headed inland to the Kennedy Ranges National Park stopping at Gascoyne Junction for lunch on the way. The Kennedy's were nice but not great because the water falls and water holes were empty. We did one walk at Temple Gorge. Again nothing fantastic, so we decided to move on. Kylie
