Well, we ventured off again heading south to the famous Brighton Beach on the south coast. After arriving at our B&B which we had booked on-line, we got changed and headed off for a walk along the beachfront. We walked past Brighton Pier and looked at all the souvenir and Brighton rock shops and fish and chip shops along the way.
We then headed up into an area call the Lanes, which consists of lots of narrow streets with interesting and quaint little shops and lots of olde worlde pubs. We had lunch in one of the pubs with a beer and carried on with our tour through the Lanes. There was a very interesting fashion store which had, literally hundreds of old sewing machines on display in the front window and side windows, it looked great.
Next, we had a walk along Brighton Pier and right at the end there is a pub which has all instruments hanging from the celing. So we had a couple of drinks in there.
The next day, I got up to have a shower, the shower head being over the bath and the water was stone cold but they had another shower head attached further down the wall that you could use if you had a bath. Well, I hate baths so I had my shower in the most awkward position you could imagine, I really wished I was a leprechaun at this stage, my poor back. We later found out that Chris had, inadvertantly turned off the hot water system.
Today, we went to see the Brighton Pavillion which was quite fascinating and very very ornate and lavish unfortunately, we couldn't take any pictures inside, not allowed. This is what Ken wanted to go to Brighton to see.
We then went back to the beachfront and had fish and chips for lunch and the stupid drink that passes as a milkshake came in a bottle which you had to shake and I thought I had put the cap back on properly but hadn't and I shook it and it ended up all over me, I felt like a complete idiot. Chris was nearly wetting herself. (She said it was the best thing that happened all day).
After lunch, we had another walk along the beach and ended up playing Crazy Golf which was really a lot of fun and, guess what, I won.
Our legs and feet were killing us from all the walking and so many sets of steps to climb and hills, etc. By now, it was about 3.30pm so we decided to head back to Huntingdon and made it in 2 hours which was brilliant.
We all had a really good time.
