After our flight back to Cairo, we had to get our connecting flight to Luxor which was delayed for an hour.We eventually arrived at Luxor airport and were met by our transfer and driven to our hotel 'The Tutotel'.Ken left our new hats on the bus never to be seen again.We were on the 4th floor and guess what, the lift didn't work - great!!We climbed the stairs and collapsed on the beds.This place was a nightmare and the weather never let up (50's).Three times one night we were eating in the hotel restaurant and the power failed (nothing like eating in the dark).

We went out in the evening and managed to find an Irish pub and ate there.Lots of donkeys, horse carriages, dust from the desert and third world footpaths - fortunately taxis are very cheap but you have to negotiate a price before getting in.One day, I stayed in the room all day in an attempt to shake my sickness.I think it really helped, I'm starting to feel a little better.
