Camino 2022
68 years young yesterday. Today it was 1 degree C when I left home. I’m taking trains Reading > London > Paris > Hendaye. Then a short walk across the bridge into Irún on the northeast corner of Spain, where I hope it is a little warmer!
My first night will hopefully be spent in an albergue (pilgrim hostel) but you can’t book in advance and I’m arriving quite late in the evening.
Tomorrow is April Fools’ Day - very fitting for an old crock setting out on a 500+ mile walk to Finisterre!

Grant Wardmand Well done - and I thought my long walks through the UK was a grand venture. Unlike you, Dave, I only did it in the summer hols so it 15 odd years! Good luck.
Jill Glad you’ve got the blog working and posting to FB. We’ll be charting your progress! 💕
Graham Lee Karen and I took and train to Hendaye and walked to Irun but that was way back in 1975 just after we were married!!! Would probably struggle to walk it now! Hope all goes well Dave. Much love from both of us.
Chris Hill Good luck Dave!
William Mullaney Well done Dave. Only did the final section from Sarria to Santiago a few years back but found it a wonderful experience. Good luck and may you suffer no blisters!
