During our stay in Darwin, we stay at Keith and Wendy's property at Howard Springs.
On arrival to their home, they have three other couples staying with them at this time. Happy hour is enjoyed every night under the outside patio, overlooking the pool, watching the sun setting. Some communal dinners are enjoyed with us all contributing towards the meals, otherwise we do our own meals back at camp.
The weather is stunning, 32 degrees each day with cool balmy nights. Sleeping is easy with the cooler nights.
We have been in Darwin now for 3 ½ weeks and during this time; here are a few things that we have been doing.
Markets - Freds Pass & Malak on Saturday mornings (food and crafts)
Palmerston on Friday nights (foodie market)
Mindel Market - Thursday & Sunday nights (food, clothes, crafts & awesome sunsets)
Catching up with old friends at Darwin River Tavern, we free camped in the back paddock and enjoyed a drink and a meal at the Tavern. Here we caught up with Jan & Terry and then about a week later, Lesley.
We enjoyed several trips out to Berry Nature Park and cooled off at the Berry Springs. We've enjoyed lunches at the Berry Springs Tavern, Virginia Tavern and a dinner at Noonamah Hotel.
Morning walks with Banjo and Wednesday mornings were enjoyed strolling along the beach at Lee Point. This is a trip that Banjo gets very excited about.
Lots of cleaning of DABUS, numerous shopping trips, a show and shine car show and getting organised for our cruise to Singapore.
During our stay Alan was unwell, so several trips to see Doctors and get test done, all is ok, he just needs to keep up his fluids. Yes water, not Pepsi.
Today we take off on our very first cruise, very excited, to Singapore. Our next blog will be after the 16th August.
