Happy birthday consee you are my inspiration. Im so incredibly proud of everything you have become. I love watching you grow into that beautiful woman. I wish i was there with you now! I love you
My second visit to Paris has been slightly more eventful, I was lucky enough to get three nights here. I defiantly didn't have time to explore everything Paris has to offer unfortunately! There are so many sites, monuments, hidden streets, museums, cafes, the list is endless and I wanted to tick off everything. I did get to spend two pretty magical days walking the streets with some cool new friends.
Day one I started with a coffee on one of the little cafes people watching and soaking in the sun and atmosphere of this famous city. We devised a plan of what we wanted to see, mapped it out and set off exploring. First stop was the famous cemetery here; it's huge and has some extrodinarily famous legends buried here, including Oscar wildes a revolutionary writer who's grave was covered in his quotes and lipstick kisses. We also visited James Morrison from the doors, he was all about rock and roll and people have been caught doing drugs and having sex on his grave. It's now bordered off and has a code of conduct leaflet for visitors!
After walking around the cobbled streets lined with autumn trees of the huge cemetery we jumped on the very easy to navigate metro and headed for the momarte district. Here is where a lot of locals hang out, there are cool bars and restaurants and buskers. We found a cute little cafe and had a traditional French lunch. It was basically a toasted cheese sandwhich with cream, bacon and cheese inside, more melted cheese on top, and then an egg and goats cheese to top it off. It was delicious, I love the food here. The bread is incredible, it's so chewy and light. Baggets are sold everywhere and you see people just carrying loaves around where ever you go.
Lunch led to a walk to the top of a hill, to check out the view and a huge church over looking Paris. The view was pretty incredible. But what was awesome up here we're the street performers, everyone sat on the steps to the church looking out to Paris and in front of us was a busker playing his guitar with and amazing voice. Down below was a man playing with a football! The things he could do was amazing, at one point he climbed a lamp post with the ball balanced on his head and the juggled to ball with his feet as he held him self high in the air!
I went out my first night with a bunch of people it was great and I loved exploring the club district of Paris. I went home pretty early though. It was connors birthday so I was missing her a little.
Second day started late, like most mornings after do. Today I grabbed my blanket and headed for the eifle tower for a picnic. On the way we saw the Norte dam and walked through the Latin district trying local cuisine. It took most of the day getting to the eifle tower and when we final arrived with our cheese and Bagget we chatted for a while and admired where we were and then took a nap in the sun with a hundred others admiring tourists and locals.
I stayed at the eifle tower for a good few hours waiting for my night bike tour! The tour was amazing we rode around Paris taking in the sights and history. We stopped for ice cream and then jumped on a boat to cruise the tems taking in the eifle tower from a spectacular view. We drank some red wine and huddled on top of the boat. I had a great last night in Paris, got a good night sleep and now I'm ready for the ten hour bus trip to Amsterdam! Things are about to get interesting!
