Pat and I went down to Brisbane to say hello & goodbye to Ray & Colleen as we are about to leave Qld bound for Darwin NT. They took us out to tea at a tavern in Morayfield. Nice food. Pat & I both finished our jobs at Eidsvold and travelled a great distance the first night after leaving there (all of a whopping 10km) and camped at Ceratodus free camp beside the Burnett River. I had to go back and pick Pat up after a few drinks with the boys before he left so I couldn't go too far. Boy it gets cold there, woke to ice on the cars in the morning, just as well we have extra blankets with us. We are now staying at Benaraby and will catch up...

We decided to cross off another place off the one day list and go out to Hurdle Gully lookout just off the highway (11km) between Monto & Biloela. Such a calm peacefull view. Looking out over towards Monto & Mulgulidie to the east. The three Moon Creek runs through the valley. No camping allowed here but there is a free camp about 600m ofthe highway on the way in.

Pat and I toured the Auburn National Park today and boy did it show just how unfit I am from sitting behind a desk all day and not going for the daily walk I used to do before leaving Miriam Vale. Pat as usual seemed to have boundless energy, rubbed it in by jogging ........ of course he was smilingly appologetic as he passed me on the slope. Pat and I have been driving past Mt Walsh National Park for years saying we would go and see what is there. Today we finally did....... It is a really great place. We went down to see Waterfall Creek, a steep climb but worth it to see the series of rockpools & waterfalls. It rained last week so there was a fair flow of water crossing the rocks.
