Crew Frivolous
We left Punsand Bay this morning to begin our long journey south.
We made a quick stop at the Croc Tent for more souvenirs and called into Bamaga for groceries. We also wanted to get some supplies from the bottle shop but it wasn't open until 12 o'clock so we made our way to Seisia for fuel and water and also a fish along the beach at the pier.
Went back to Bamaga and got the required supplies and headed down to the Jardine River and the ferry. We had to wait for the ferry man to return. Apparently the Bamaga Show was on and he had gone for a look. Didn't have to wait too long. We had our lunch on the south side of the river.
Travelled down the Northern Bypass Road for about 28km and turned in towards Vrilya Point.
It was only 23km across to the coast but this would have been the bumpiest and most corrugated road we had travelled along. We also had to cross another log bridge at Crystal Creek which was narrower than the previous one. The guys guided each other across safely much to our delight. The bridge certainly made some strange creaking noises as each car and trailer crossed. We were not looking forward to the return trip.
We continued down to the water's edge and found a beautiful spot to camp.
