Hey so soz for delay in updating have been moving every other day. So Koh Phi Phi was amazing. our second favourite place next to Koh Tao. Beautiful island and not too built up which is nice compared to Kao Samui where you forget your on a tropical island as a mcdonalds is just around the corner! We stayed 3 days in Phi Phi ( pronounced pee pee!) was really interesting to see some areas as the island was hit quite bad by the tsunami and has rebuilt itself so?quick in three years but?you can still sence as see evidence of it. There are no cars on the island so you get a boat taxi about which was fun we went to this beautiful beach called long beach perfect white sand and green sea. We have some good pics which we will try to upload asap( still camera probs). From here we went to Koh Lanta which was so strange as were now going into low tourist season and it was so quite! When we first got there we'd booked a room in Phi Phi and some places offer transfers so we were taken to ths place in the back of this thai blokes car, which was bit scary as normally its like a mini bus or taxi type thing. He had these long dreads n was completly rasta and we were a bit like ahh! However he was really chatty and friendly so it was all cool. Our place was a bungalows opperation which a lot of them are on the islands and we were the only people there! It was obviously a familly business and his 'poppa' spoke no english - was sweet. We didn't mind it being quiet was quite nice actually we had whole beach to our selfs. Our room was real shabby but we were ok to begin with. After a few hours on windy beach - weather was not too good that day and there were a million little crabs running around we went for a long romantic stroll! well maybe not quite so romantic. The beach was not so good there for sun bathing but got some good pics of the palms and the rocks. So going back to our room was a bit of a shock to find a full sized frog in our bathroom come up through the drains! ahhhhhhhhh! not impressed, so in spite of paying for that night ( was only a cheapy) packed up n moved to a nice little hotel with a pool to settle our nerves! OK sorry we are pansys and were not getting much better but we are trying! You can really tell out the hard core travellers who stay in 150 baht (2 pounds roughly) which are wooden holey ramshakle bungalows. we tryed it once (Kanchanaburi) and that was a relativly nice one but after that 'experience' are not willing to try it again. To be honest you can get nice enough midrange stone rooms, air con, for like 800 baht which is like a fiver each so might as well!
In Phuket now came yesterday morning on two boat trips which are nice we just sit on the top of the boat and get the sun. We booked our room for first night in Koh Lanta as we didn't really know much about PHuket and it is quite a big city. Normally we just room search when we get there as to get the cheap guesthouses. The trouble with booking through a tour agency is the room prices are hiked up and they only usually sell the more expensive places. So last night was spent in luxery for a luxery price, which was nice for the day! We're on a proper stinge today! Phuket is cool, not as glitzy as its made out, i can not really image Kate Moss wanting to marry here! Coming to end of Thailand now we have to make our way back up to Bangkok evening of the 14th and then flying to Singapore on the 16th. We're not to sure what were gonna do with our last few days, either spend it out in Phuket or back to Koh Tao to meet some people or back up to Bangkok early.
