Hey everyone well we are now in the cook Islands and it is perfect, as was Fiji. We really really dont wanna come home now! We are hastidly working on our tans as it is only just under two weeks now untill we are back in England. We arrived in Raratonga, the main island of the Cook Islands on Friday just gone, after we left Nadi (Fiji) on the Saturday. I know confusing - Craig still don't get it! its the international date lane directely between Fiji and The Cook Islands. So we have made up an extra day! However we will loose it flying to L.A
Fiji was perfect, absolutely boiling. We stayed at this really nice place that was half hostel, half resort so we were impressed. Right on the beach with a nice pool, bar and lots of hammocks! What we had to learn to get used to was the fact that all Fijians run on 'Fiji time' It honestly took about half hour to get one simple thing done. It was rather funny in the end and its really chilled me and Craig out. Dont know how long it will last! We wathched a traditional Island night show with Fijian dancer coconut shell bra and all! The next dat we left for this picture perfect island called Mana and it was so gorgeous. It was amazing on the boat from the main land out to Mana past all the tiny picture perfect pure white sand islands that have herdely been touched. Where we stayed at Mana was the most basic place we'd ever seen in our lifes. We stayed in a traditional Buro with thatched roof (and millions of spiders!) There was litterally nothing alse on the island apart from one other big posh resort whivh all backpackers are 'banned' from. Are we that dirty?! No shops or anything so we had all our meals cooked for us (to our horror!) As you know neither of us have the most varied taste palet! But it was real sweet run by this one Fijian family all so friendly and they sing songs to you on they're guitars saying your part of the family. We met two nice Danish guys here. When we left they all gathered you round and sang this traditional good bye song to you. Craig cried. not! On our last night back on the main island before we left the hostel was taken over by about 8 South Pacific rugby teams. ( Lindz you would have been in heaven!)
So here we are in Rarotonga. Its brilliant were with another English couple in our own private beach front villa! heaven. Double room, full kitchen wicked! We've all got Mopeds and our friend in the main backpackers has a 4x4 so have all been driving around on the beasts. The island is Beautiful, with the mopeds it means we can go find all the most preatty and private beaches. Yesterday we kayaked out to two smaller islands and this small little ship wreck. All the Cook Islanders are so friendly, friendlieat people we met yet, give you something for nothing. I had a whole coconut chopped up for me yesterday with this massive bush knife. We might just have to stay here permantly! I cry at the thought of coming home noe! Not that we dont miss you all are really looking forward to seeing everyone!
We are leaving on Sat for L.A and then leaving for Heathrow on the 2nd and will be back on Fri the 3RD. So all keep that weekend FREE!!!!!!!!
love you all x x x
