Saturday 6th August 2011 Melbourne - Kuala Lumpar - Rome - Catania
I will be Departing on an Alitalia Flight which is operated by Malaysian Airlines at 3.00pm on saturday afternoon. Destination to Kuala Lumpar before changing flights and then flying onwards to Rome. Can you believe I paid the same price for my airfares as I did in 1989. After going through customs I will then catch my flight to Catania, arriving at 11.15 am, where I will be greeted by my cousin Fiorella. It has been 22 years since my last visit to Sicily and I am looking forward to seeing all my Aunts and cousins many of whom I have not seen for 22 years.
This will be the first time in 16 years that I will be travelling without my Darwing (Peter) who will join me in a fortnight in Sicily. I wonder if he will miss me! Lucy and Maggie will definately be missed and I know that our house sitters Glen and Robyn will take excellent care of our Girls.
In preparation for my trip I am taking a pair of Q3 Bose noise cancelling head phone valued at $499.00 which I picked up on ebay for $192.00. Apparently they are the best thing since sliced bread. I am taking an ipod, my Nikon D40 camera, My Tripod, Suduko Book, A Novel, A Sony HD Handy Cam and my iphone 4 enough to keep me amused on the flight and whilst on vacation.
I decided to travel light this time, so I have packed the essentials and left room for perhaps a few spoils along the way. Hmmm A nice Italian Shirt!

Finally got off into the air, the first leg of the trip Melbourne to Kuala Lumpar took 8 hours and wow if you want a punctual flight Malaysian Airlines is it! So stayed awake the whole journey and watched "Thor" on the movies....sorry but one was enough. I am to spoiled with our 62" Plasma at home. The second part of the trip flying onwards to Rome, well that was great as I slept the whole of the 12 hour journey...excellent progress.
