After the sweatiest most awful night bus we arrived at around 6am in Nha Trang. The promise of sunny weather and a nice beach..we all couldn't wait as the weather had been utter poo for the whole time we'd been in Asia. once again none of us had been in the mood to go trekking around too much for accomodation and quickly found a clean and tidy guesthouse called 'My Dung'. ha ha. I had been feeling sick for over 2 hours and was glad to be able to run to the room where I spent around 10 minutes heaving but not chucking up, I felt so rough. I hadn't eaten and I was so tired and Laura (who is a nurse) said it was probably exhaustion. I slept until midday and we thought we'd check out the beach.... it was dirty and not that pretty - not a patch on Fiji. You could almost hear everyones hearts sink in disappointment. To top off the fact that the beach was a tad minging James suddenly let out a shriek and jumped... by the sea there was this dead rat and where it had been dead for a while it had blown up to the fattest rat I have ever seen... it was like Roland Rat on steroids! We decided to find an ok spot and lay on the beach for a bit but it wasnt long until some crazy Vietnamese men and women were trying to sell us some crap that we didnt want.. they try and sell you sunglasses when you are already wearing some and lighters even though you dont smoke. The guilt trips about how their family wont be able to eat and stuff soon wear thin as the Vietnamese get to pay Vietnamese prices which are SOOO much lower than the prices we pay being Westerners. We soon got fed up of this and went back to the guesthouse.
For our one and only night in Nha Trang, James and Lois had found a place along the beach called 'The Sailing Club' After dinner we wandered down there and Laura, Lisa and I didnt really know what to expect. When we arrived the place was amazing, it was so gorgeous with an abundance of wooden tables and chairs, with cute little lights.. the place was so posh!! James had found out that they were doing free cocktails for ladies from 10pm so thats bascially why we were there. We were drinking the free cocktails and also cheap Vietnamese Vodka out of jam jars - it was hilarious. The bar man was a k*** jockey but seemed to take a shining to me so I got loads more free cocktails for all of us girls - including James! That night we met an awesome guy called Ben, he was rather posh but said he had been 'stood up' by his mate.. cheeky cheeky, so he picked the table with 4 girls and James..ha ha. We had such a laugh. We all had had one too many cocktails but we were dancing lilke crazy and having the best night ever. I was so thirsty I bought a bottle of water as the humidity was still ridiculous, but James took my bottle and poured the WHOLE thing over my head. If that happened in England I would have chopped his manhood off and made a casserole with it but it was so refreshing I was wuite thankful for it. Lois and James left before Me, Lisa, Laura and Ben and on the way back to the guesthouse Ben took some funny pictures of us hugging trees! it was so funny. We all had minging hangover the next day and I managed to find a cafe to have a proper sausage sandwich with HP sauce.. I was so excited.
We left Nha Trang on yet another night bus.. Ho Chi Mingh City was the destination.. better known as Saigon. x
