Uruguay, its the second smallest sovereign nation in South America and has the letter U in its name three times. You can cross to Uruguay from Argentina on a ferry, much like Brits go on trips across to France, its only 2 hours and you get to raid the duty free on-board. We set off in the morning heading to the historic town of Colonia. A very pretty town, about 400 years old, cobbled streets and small doors. The town had been converted into the capital of museums, it had nine! The Spanish and Portuguese had been scrapping over ownership of the place all during the 16th and 17th century so the town had a Spanish history museum and a Portuguese history museum. There were dinosaur remains and indigenous tribes history and lastly a ceramic tiles museum, gave that one a miss. Had a nice time but no great Uruguayan experience. Apologies for the scary welcome photo. All the museums shut at 6 and the ferry didn't leave till 8 so I thought it would be a good idea to cut some limes from a nearby tree and test the brilliant ´shoot and select´ function on the camera. To kill an hour we took it in turns to bite into huge chucks of lime and take burst photos of our facial expressions. Absolutely hilarious, our new camera can take 20 pictures in really quick succession so it gets every grimace. Wait till I upload Kat's face next week!
