Rio de Janeiro, Portuguese for river of January and nicknamed the marvelous city. Just like most city's there are some very beautiful areas with golden sandy beaches, sights, activities, shops and restaurants. Rio´s carnival parade finished on Tuesday and we got back 9:30 the next morning after dancing the samba all day in the streets and watching the parade in the famous sambadrome all through the night. We crossed the border into Brazil and took an overnight bus to Curitiba, a large town in the South. When we arrived in the morning we headed for the train station and caught the 9:30 to Morrettes. The train crossed through a stunning national park full of monkeys, rivers and lakes. After the train it was a bus to the port of Paranagua and a ferry to Ilha do mel otherwise known as honey island.
