After the surprise of arriving in Peru and finding a very typicaly european beach resort town, the shock of which forced us to lie down on the beach for three days, we headed south down the famous Pan American highway to our next stop, Chiclayo. We have spent 6 days in northern Peru spending our time looking at Peru history and blowing our noses. Two and a half months since leaving the motherland we have both been landed with our first colds. We've been visiting the area, very historical, a colourful past of tribes, civilisations and rulers. Went to the Museo tumbas reales de Sipan and to Chan Chan and along the way we sneezed, coughed and snotted our mark on all these great historical landmarks of Peru. Have been relaxing in a nice homestay in Trujillo called Casa de Clara, run by a brummie guy who has cable tv. We can eat with the family any meals we want to join in with, which had been great to get some strength back because tomorrow we're heading off to a high range of mountains called the Cordillera Blanca, a mere 6768meters.
