So we set out on South Sea Cruises again awaiting our stop to Manatray, not daring to look at the resort boat as it drops off checking out people- YAY !!! Davo and sophie nowhere to be seen! which means they are still on the resort...get in!

Off we go to surprise them on the island, we pull up and run and give them both a big hug...

Our 3 nights at Manatray were great - lots of relaxing and reading in the hammocks on the beach...plenty of rum and coke ...oooh and the Fiji export wasnt too bad either!

Our 2nd night was 'Fijian Night' with locals dishes that we both tried (well done us!)..The locals from the village came to dance for us and then began the Kava ceremony...

Kava is the root of a tree ground and added to water, it apparently makes your tongue go numb but we had been warned it tasted horrible! So Davo gets assigned as Chief of the ceremony (we have yet to discover what his duties were)... Lisa is 3rd to have kava - ewwwwhhhhhhh!!!! discusting , like drinking clay and water from a coconut shell and having to down it whilst everyone claps! Jayne next - same reaction and Jayne is convinced it is a complete joke on us!

Oh god the kava is on its way back to us, can we stomach any more? doesn't look like we have a choice..glug glug!! Is it us or has the size of the kava doubled since our last turn..ewwwghhh we are well and truly done, stomach churning and mouth slightly tingly, definately not worth having anymore but glad we tried!

The next rum and coke never tasted so good!

Woke up early the next day as we decided to go to experience Fijian church at Sunday Mass.

After a 20 min boat ride to the nearest village we had a look around, the Vicar began the service by welcoming us visitors- the church choir were AMAZING and the atmoshere was friendly and inviting..

It was time to go back to mantaray to check out. Time to board South Sea Cruises once again. This time we have decided to go to Waya Lai Lai ecohaven resort (very basic). We say goodbye to Soph and Davo and arrange to meet again in Beachcomber Resort in 2 nights time!
