We headed to the border of Peru and Ecuador we had to hang around in Tumbes till the buss turned up so we just played cards to kill the time, the bus finally turned up so we got on and headed to the border we had to get of and go through the normal formalities at the border.
We finally arrived in Guayaquil around 5 hrs later so we hoped into a taxi and straight to the terminal to get the next bus to Tulcan this is the border town on the Ecuador / Colombia side the next bus was just about to leave so we rushed to get our kit on and of we set again, the journey seemed to take for ever but we finally got to Tulcan we took a taxi to the border but it was shut so we had to find somewhere to get our heads down we eventually found where the border police kip so ultan grabbed a couch i had the floor with my sleeping bag, we managed to get some kip before being rudely woken my the cops, after getting our passport stamped we walked across to the Colombian side 5 Min's later we was heading to Ipailes to catch the bus to Medellin, we had decided to stop there as we had been traveling for over 2 days and was begging to smell like pigs LOL.
We needed some dough to pay for the bus so we headed to the centre but for some bizarre reason the cash points wouldn't let your withdraw cash until 8am so we sat about for a bit till finally we got our cash.
So of we set to Medellin the journey would take around 13 hours a breeze after what we had just done.
Once we arrived we headed to the Casa Kiwi hostel its ran my a cool American dude called Paul, the hostel is split into to parts a hotel and hostel both parts are interlinked the hostel itself is fantastic great facilities everything a backpacker needs, pool, DVDs and big TV, Internet and cooking facilities and best of all hot showers.
We duped our kit in and headed to the showers it was lovely to feel the hot water on us after being on the buses for so long.
We just chilled out for the rest of the day watching TV and playing pool. We had a walk around that evening after cooking dinner i must admit myself and Ultan are getting much better at cooking. The area where the hostel is called Zona Rosa a very posh part its got lovely shops and restaurants etc we found a bar and chilled with a few nice ice cold beers.
The next morning we got up made breakfast and had a look around again we was heading to Cartagena that evening. We made our way to the bus terminal the bus was leaving at 8pm so we got our stuff ready and of we set the journey was around 10 hrs it was ok apart from the air-con must have been set to minus 50 i had icicle's hanging of my nose LOL.
We arrived mid morning, we headed to Casa Vienna to meet up with Lucy and Lou the 2 Aussie girls we had all met in La Paz.
We caught up with them later that day it was cool to see them again.
