After a ok bus Journey we arrived in Central Talca by this time it was dark we needed to head to Casa Chueca the hostel is run by and Austrian Called Franz he runs this with his German partner. Bri and I jumped into a taxi and headed of to the Hostel once we arrive we were greeted by the owners.
A young German girl showed us to our rooms i have to admit that the accommodation was far the best we had had so far, we dropped our kit of and joined them in the dining area.
Franz runs the hostel and also has a trekking business as well he has over 15 years experience of South America so if there's anything you need he can sort it out for you, They also run Spanish classes and also there was people there who wanted to work and learn Spanish in return they get free accommodation and food.We joined them after dinner and sat round chatting for a few hours we eventually headed to bed.
The next day we headed to town Talca itself is fairly big so we spent a good couple of hours walking around etc, It was now starting to get dark so we need to get the Textual (bus) back to the hostel we jumped on the one we thought would be correct bus A unfortunately there are 2 one goes to San Clemente and the one we needed San Valitine so with our best pigeon English and a hour or so later we did manage to hop onto the right bus. after all this excitement we had a nice early night.
After Breakfast Franz joined us and helped us decide what route we would take Bri and I had decided to head south to A region called Patagonia but Franz recommended we head North as the weather in the south was to cold and wet and we wouldn't get the full beauty of the region, so north it would be.We just spent the day chilling and relaxing in the sun it was nice to just relax and chill.
The next morning Bri and I was up nice and early ready for a nice run so of we set in to the Chilean countryside the views are lovely you can see the Adean mountains stretching for miles as you ran, some 2 hours later we finally got back i was blowing from every hole i can tell you. After a nice hot shower we headed to town for dinner and to buy some previsions.
Later that evening Bri and I joined the group after dinner we tried some of the local red wine that we had bought I'm not a big wine lover but Brian knows his reds and i have to admit the red we had was very nice.
After breakfast We hired some mountain bikes and headed out on a 6 hour route that Franz had recommended it would take us up into the Chilean hills and allow us to get some fantastic views of the city and surrounding landscape, the weather was fantastic so of we set i have to admit the mountain bikes were not exactly Specialized LOL, they was a make called Oxford around 89 pound to by bargain... Brian's back wheel was so buckled that it wouldn't spin freely but fair play he cracked on, i was a little jack as i had the better of the 2 but we did swap near the head though.
The ride took us through the wine vineyards and over breathtaking views the roads could do with a makeover though there just gravel roads very uncomfortable on the old behind.
Once we arrived back we had a lovely warm shower and grabbed some food with the other guys.
In the Morning we settled our bills etc and headed into Talca as we need to catch the bus to Valparaiso in the North.
