We had a really cool drive down to sampiata the scenery was awesome, we finally arrived later in the evening we spent sometime looking for a hostel but we eventually came across one so we dumped our kit of and went out for dinner the town itself is pretty small so it didn't take long to walk around we came across a small place where they served pretty good food.
The next morning we got up and had a walk around the town we met an American guy who gave us a tour around the place in motor. We spent the rest of the day chilling.
The next day we decided to take a tour to where Che Guevara was buried the journey took around 3 hours, when we arrived we had look around the museum that has been set up for the public it explained with photos and written documentation the exploits of Che. We then visited the place where he and his compatriots where buried his body has since been moved to Cuba but the head stones of the freedom fighters are still there.
We also visited the hospital where his body was taken to be cleaned after he was shot by the police. We arrived back later that day the tour was really good it was interesting to find out more about this brilliant youngman.
Later we booked our horse trek for the next day, we chilled out that evening had a few beers and a early night ready for the horse riding in the morning.
We awoke bright and early ready for the trek we made our way to the tour office where the horses were waiting for us the 3 horses didn't look that big but we all jumped on Graham had ridden before but for Bri and me it was our first time.
Of we set at first i couldn't get the horse to move but somehow with some gentle persuasion from the guide i managed to kick start her into life, we trotted out of town down the road till we reached the Amboro National Park where we rode up the mountain it started to piss it down so we were all rather soaked by the time we reached the top.
We dismounted and paid the entrance fee and of we walked to view the Inca ruins,El Fuerte as its known is archaeological site is situated on a mountain top at 8 kilometres from the center of Samaipata and provides a spectacular view of distant mountain ranges. "El Fuerte", meaning "The Fortress", was first settled by tribes from the Amazon and Gran Chaco lowlands and later by the Incas. It was probably a religious ceremonial center. Its predominant feature is the world´s largest carved stone, forming a platform of 300x40 metres. A few years ago UNESCO declared "El Fuerte" World Cultural Heritage site. Some visitors sense a special energy emanating from the red sandstone rock and the ruins. The Swiss Erick von Dהnicken, who visited the place twice, maintains in one of his books that two parallel running grooves carved in the rock were once used as a UFO-launch site.
After our trek down we showered and headed back to Santa Cruz it would be our last day together as Brian was heading to Brazil and Graham was going back to England.
So we said our fairwells i was sad to say goodbye to the guys as we have good time together but i will be meeting up with brian in a month or so.so i cant wait for that
I booked my ticket to La paz and jumped on the bus. I arrived the next morning i had a few hours wait till i caught my next bus to Lima in peru it would take 42 hours.
