We arrived in Puno on the shores of lake Titicaca and checked into our hotel with an unpronounceable name! Firstly, sorry for no blog update in the last few days - having some phone issues! However what a crazy few days, I shall start at the beginning! At 10am on Tuesday morning we were picked up in a minibus and driven 2 hours to olytatambo, a village in which you catch the train to aguascalientes (at the foot of macchu picchu). What a couple of days! A 2am start yesterday morning ready for a bus tour to 'Colca' the worlds deepest caynon. We were picked up at out hotel and then had a 3 hour drive up to Chivay, the capital of the region. A quick breakfast was munched down before heading off to various Andean villages, were there were eagles of display and Charlie and I also had one perch on our arms. Spanish lessons over, bill paid, trinkets bought and plans made. After a week in the amazing Case De Avila we are sad to be moving on - great setting and staff! But after a good plan charlie and I have decided we really SHOULD move on. And, wow, what a couple of weeks we have instore all starting tomorrow. Another quick update from RAINY Peru! Strange feeling as you automatically expect it to be boiling hot and blazing sunshine. At least I hear the UK is bathed in sun. Had a good couple of days of Spanish lessons in the garden of the hotel - 10 hours for £20, the best bargain thus far. Charlie has been smashing through Peruvian cuisine, guinea pig and alpaca...and counting! Alpaca is surprisingly tasty actually. Have bought some 'locally crafted' trinkets today, ...
