Well we've made it to Phuket with ease from Phi Phi. First thing was to check out our roof top pool to relax and build up some exploring energy. Once recharged we took off from the pool to be hassled by locals to buy suits, shorts and T-shirts. They were nearly offended if you said no thanks but oh well. There was defiantly a different atmosphere about Phuket compared to our previous beach resorts. There was a bigger buzz with plenty of tourists, bar's, clubs and activities to spend your Baht on.
We sampled a few Chang challenging the locals at connect 4 (their favourite pub game apart from pool) and we managed to win a few games that resulted in free Tequila's. We ended up in a club with a local landlord playing darts and table football, he was half Thai half German and the banter was mighty.
We found our local to have an amazing live band, these guys could rock a guitar for sure, playing it behind there head and in just about every shape possible not missing a note.
Surrounding Phuket are about 47 Islands that are all part of a national park so we booked a boat trip to fill out our day, this included food, drinks, canoeing and a party on the boat. The staff were so friendly and great fun. The scenery was fantastic, an we stopped a few times to take the canoe's out and go into caves and see some of the wildlife, it was really good fun. One of the islands we visited was known as the James Bond island as one of the films was shot here - "Man with the Golden Gun" with Rodger Moore in it. Crystal clear waters with towering boulders coming out of the sea so we became happy snappers with the camera. There were about 50 people on the boat so we met lots of nice tourists like ourselves just travelling around Thailand.
For our last night a big night out was had with a not so great hotel wake up in the morning but we really enjoyed Phuket and it was a great way to finish Thailand. Hope you guys at home are ready for a holiday out here because we are already planning our next trip back J
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Leaving the beach life behind us now and heading on to Malaysia - Kuala Lumpor.
