Kuala lumpua
A wee country change for us now to Malaysia and the capital of Kuala Lumpur, we arrived at the huge airport located about an hour outside the city centre, our accommodation was in china town situated in the heart of KL, upon arrival we got a bit of a shock at the busy bustle of the city centre. Settled in and it was time for some exploring round the busy markets of China town, this was very mad as people were trying to push everything under the sun onto us. It was a different atmosphere to the Thai markets.
The next morning we decided to head to the more cosmopolitan city centre to check out the Patronis Twin Towers and the KL Tower, unfortunately we were to late to get the tour so the massive shopping centre and the very well maintained park area with cool water fountains more than kept us amused for the remainder of the day.
A very early start was required the next day to join the large queue's to secure our tickets for the sky bridge experience of the Patronis Towers, this took about an hour of queuing to get a ticket for about three hours later so we headed to the KL Tower for a look from the highest view in KL, this was really cool but a very touristy set up. After this we headed back to the Patronis Towers for our tour which turned out to be a very good experience, learning all about the construction (The biggest concrete pour in Asia as Colin would say) and heading up the Sky bridge for some very nice views of the city. The night life then led us to a really cool bar thirty three stories up to enjoy some overprices cocktails and some fabulous night views of the city.
Our last day in KL and I needed to get my motor fix so we hired a taxi for a few hours and set sail for some of the many Japanese car breakers throughout the city, we saw a few pathetic ones before landing at Mun Lee Auto Parts which can only be described as motor haven, they have Japanese engines, front cuts as far as the eye can see and all from high performance cars. They mostly export to America but a lot of other countries including our own (ET International) buy containers from them. They had walls of every performance part under the sun all at very reasonable prices and I had a good drifting chat with one of the employee's before getting a full tour of the site, very cool and that will keep me ticking over until I get to Aus as I cant see there being to many performance cars in Vietnam.
Our next instalment will be from the war stricken country of Vietnam so be prepared for lots of history.
Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the pics.
